The Agent SVN installer provides a minimal set of client components and by default those components will be used. But it is possible to change this behaviour using the configuration dialog.
If the Agent SVN software is not working as expected, it might be because one of those Subversion components is the wrong version or incompatible with your Subversion server.
The Subversion components used by the Agent SVN plug-in are described below and they can be downloaded from one of the following links:
A more detailed description of the Subversion client components that are required is given below.
If you have any questions regarding any of these Subversion components or you need some further clarification feel free to post a question to the Agent SVN forum.
For the Agent SVN software to work the following Subversion components needs to have been correctly installed and configured on the machine.
Agent SVN uses the Subversion Client (i.e. SVN.EXE) to connect with the Subversion repository. Agent SVN will install a default client but it is also possible to use an alternative client. In both case you need to make sure the client software has been correctly configured and that the version of the client matches the version of the Subversion server being used.
Agent SVN uses the Subversion Admin (i.e. SVNADMIN.EXE) software utility to manage the repository. If you plan to let Agent SVN create repositories then this utility needs to have been correctly installed and configured on the machine. The version of the Subversion Admin utility must also match with the version of the server being used.
Since Agent SVN uses the Subversion Client to connect with the repository, it does not care which version of the local repository folder is used.
But to make the Subversion Client work with _svn local repository make sure the SVN_ASP_DOT_NET_HACK environment variable has been correctly configured.
If the following dialog is displayed it means the SVN.EXE, SVNADMIN.EXE utilities where not found in the system PATH:
This means the Use the built-in SVN client tools option is not checked.
If you wish to use the plug-in without this option, this dialog means the system PATH is not correctly configured as it does not include the installation directories of these Subversion tools.
Alternatively, it could mean the utilities have not been installed on the local machine in which case the tools will need to be installed.
If you have a questions regarding any of these prerequisites or you need
some further clarification, feel free to post a question to the Agent SVN
forum.
